It might surprise you to find a new post on this web site, but it’s been decided that a good web design shouldn’t be wasted. Is that enough of a reason to keep a band web site going when the band itself is largely an empty shell? Well, no. Of course not. But you never know what diabolical content might come out of the Windhaven Network studios. Some of the heavier content might be released under the Systematic Chaos brand. We might even sallie forth at some point and perform if we find a talented guitar shredder who wants to go out and make some noise.
Is there an actual band? Well… no. Not really. If Systematic Chaos exists at all at this point, it’s as a recording project spearheaded by your truly, Wicasta Lovelace. But I like to keep my options open. There’s always going to be some random heavier songs that just don’t fit in with the other projects. So maybe I’ll exercise my Metal jones here. Chuga chuga chuga.
Or… it’s possible nothing will ever happen to this site or this band. But as a general act of defiance, it seemed like a good gesture to post something here in 2010. If nothing else, I’ll come back here in 2011 to shake my fists at the world again.
Hear ye! Hear ye! And you… yes, you with the handcuffs and whips… you know who you are. Let this serve as an official invitation to Systematic Chaos’ 1st annual Guavaween Extravaganza! We’ll be kicking off the festivities during Guavaween at our old haunt, Market On 7th, on Halloween night. Depending on how many people are left standing by then, we’ll fire up the show around 10pm, and will play until 2:00 or so the next morning (or until the SWAT teams come in to chase the stragglers out of Ybor).
Guavaween itself needs no introduction. If you know what it is, you know how much fun it can be (and how wild it can get). We’re pleased and privileged to render a showcase at Market On 7th, with a full light show, fog machine, and full costumes. The centerpiece of our show will be Del Westcott’s amazing Halloween drum kit (which you have to see to believe).
So if you’re not afraid of having a good time, come on out and make some noise with us. We’re going to be in the thick of it during Guavaween, performing a number of Halloween songs specifically for our Guavaween Extravaganza. We guarantee that a good time will be had by all.

We recently befriended a photographer on MySpace who came out to the Cars For Pinks show and took some photographs of the event, including some great pictures of the band. This is our way of thanking him for coming out to the show, and for having the photography skills to make some old men look like we were actually throwing down or something.
We encourage you to go take a look at some of the excellent photographs that have been posted on the JWS Photography gallery on MySpace. And if you’re looking for a photographer and can’t book our old friend Tom Quek, maybe you can check out JWS Photography.
We’ll be heading out to our old haunt, Market On 7th, in the old Ybor City section of Tampa, to start working on our Guavaween Extravaganza. We’ll be playing most of our regular tunes, but we’ll be tinkering around on some new additions. We’re also soliciting suggestions about songs that we can play at the big Guavaween event on Halloween (more on that later).
Come on out and have a good time with us. We always feel guilty knowing that we get to hang out in Ybor City on a Wednesday night when so many of you are stuck at home watching TV. If you think nothing ever happens on a Wednesday, come on out and let us prove you wrong.

This is our latest set list, which we used for the Cars For Pinks auto show.
On October 4th, 2009 at Quaker Steak & Lube in Clearwater, Florida, Katie Greene will be hosting the Cars For Pinks auto show, which will benefit the Susan G. Komen For The Cure foundation’s efforts to find a cure for breast cancer. The show will help Katie to raise the $2,300 she needs to register to participate in the Breast Cancer 3-Day event in Saint Petersburg, Florida, which takes place October 30 – November 1.
I admire Katie Greene. If you don’t know what the Breast Cancer 3-Day is, suffice it to say that Katie, and hundreds of others, will be paying $2,300 for the privilege of walking 60 miles over 3 days to raise public awareness of breast cancer. This comes from a woman who does not have breast cancer and is not related to anyone who has breast cancer. So Katie’s compassion is for other people over an issue which has not directly touched her life or those of her relatives. That is admirable, and speaks volumes about Katie’s character and compassion.
Entertainment will be by Systematic Chaos. We play mostly Classic Rock, with some old R&B and thrown in for good measure. Keep in mind that all tips made by the band during the event will be donated to Katie’s fund. So please tip the band generously!

Systematic Chaos. Everytime I play with these guys it just gets better. I’m really proud to be a part of such a professional band. It’s not everyday that you get with a group of guys who are so experienced that they can just pull anything off.
Last night was just another example. A bunch of drunk Canadian guys came in at the end of our last set. It was late, we were tired, but we were going to entertain those gents anyway. They were have a great time and requested “La Bamba”. So I just started playing it. Wic and Del just fell into it like they had played it a million times. Luckily, one of the audience knew the words and was kind enough to sing it. But Del was singing harmony on parts that he knew! It wasn’t the best version ever heard but we pulled it off!
Next they wanted “Brown Eyed Girl” which we haven’t played in ages. But we pulled it off! Then, much to my horror, Del volunteered “Free Bird”. Now we have never, ever played it as a 3 piece. You can imagine how hard that is to pull off. But we did it!
We even played around with “House of the Rising Sun” and “Ain’t No Sunshine” and all of that just cold! A few weeks back we got a request for “Taking Care of Business” and pulled it off cold. There are a few more that I can’t remember we did like that but the point is, these guys are pros and this is really a good, solid rock band.
So you can see why I’m really proud to be playing with this bunch of guys. Each and ever member is a true professional. Now if we can just get somebody to pay us…
Peace and I’m out of here…

Anyone who is familiar with Systematic Chaos knows that we are forever connected to the somewhat legendary Market On 7th, a locally renowned eatery in the old Ybor City section of Tampa, Florida. This is where the band got started, and it’s a place we’ll always think of with great fondness. It’s a wonderful place to drop in while you’re carousing Ybor City, where you can have a beer and a slice of the best pizza you’re ever likely to taste, while listening to a great band (and we’re not just talking about Systematic Chaos here).
If you are lucky enough to run into the owner, Gino Iavarone, he’ll tell you the history of the place, which goes back many generations in his family. Market On 7th gets its name from the building’s days of beyond a well regarded local business called Demmi’s Market (which the building is still labeled with on its face). The property (including the neighboring Carmine’s, also run by Gino Iavarone’s family) is beautiful, classic Ybor city which has stood since Ybor’s cigar heyday.
Market On 7th is renowned for a very relaxed atmosphere with great prices on drinks and the pizza. If you like thin crust you’ll never eat pizza anywhere else. And if you’re lucky, you might even catch a great band there on occasion.
